  • Kenzo is a Japanese noodle house located conveniently around the corner of Yonge and Dundas square. The restaurant's main focus is ramen, however appetizers like tofu, gyoza (japanese dumplings), and chicken karaage (deep fried chicken) are available as well. Food: 2.5/5 Ordered the Shi-o Ramen and Shoyu Ramen - toppings included are nori, green onion, naruto, and two pieces of roasted pork and marinated bamboo shoots (seasonal toppings which they didn't have at the time). The amount of toppings felt lacking and the depth of flavour fell shallow. The texture of the pork felt a bit dry, and the noodles were nothing out of the ordinary. If you're looking for a richer flavour, I suggest getting the tonkotsu broth ramen instead. Decor: During busy times, this place can get uncomfortably cramped. The small space does not allow for flexible travel room and any sense of privacy between your dining partner is lost. The design of this restaurant has nothing unique. Is it worth it? Yes, and no. This place really used to be the place to go - however, the ramen standard has risen and Kenzo just could not keep up. In my opinion, it feels as if Kenzo's standard of ramen has actually lowered. Overall, the prices are significantly lower than hyped up ramen restaurants, so it is definitely worth it if all you're looking for is a quick fix.
