I booked a reservation for the upcoming Valentine's Day weekend (Saturday) through OpenTable. I just received a phone call from someone at the restaurant informing me that they are "reaching capacity" and, if I wanted to ensure I would get a table (for which I had already made a reservation), I would have to provide my credit card information over the phone. I was informed that, if I chose not to provide my credit card info, they would give my table (for which I had already made a reservation), to someone who had agreed to provide their credit card info if the restaurant ends up being overbooked on Saturday.
This is the most ridiculous, boneheaded policy I've ever encountered. I made a reservation for Valentine's Day weekend, they took my reservation, then called me two days later to tell me that my table would likely be given to someone else if I refused to provide my card info. Now I have to try to find another restaurant on one of the busiest nights of the year.
I'd suggest anyone considering making a reservation at this place think twice before doing so. I'll be reaching out to OpenTable to make them aware of this situation as well.
