| - We had a similar experience as a lot of the reviewers here, but I really want to be fair. I'll start with the cons first. They are not very business oriented. I am not sure who manages the business side. Communication is horrible, I booked an April 2015 ride in December 2014. So the week of my ride I tried to confirm. I sent several emails and texts and even called. But as you can see, there really is no sense calling. No one will answer the phone. They did finally (the day before our ride) re-confirm (they did confirm in December, but since it was four months earlier, I wanted another "we're good this weekend right"?
The place is pretty much a junk yard. That really didn't bother me. I wasn't there for any of that. Just know what to expect.
And 80+% of the ride is on pavement. Up some city streets, then 10 minutes of a trail..with a very good view of the city at the top (so I might suggest a sunset ride). People should know this part to know what to expect. it's not a desert, scenic ride.
The ride is probably an hour tops (by the time they saddle up everyone and get them on the horses).
Now for the pros...Charlie, the guide, is very nice. The horses are very nice, tame, beautiful. You will get your ride if they've confirmed. it's not a scam, they just need more business oriented people to manage their business. We actually enjoyed the day, the guide, and the horses. But if you're looking for some type of romantic setting, this really isn't it. You're in town with the exception of a few minutes.
