Very empty on a Friday night. 3 stars for great service, a cask option, and lots of local brews. 2 stars off because the place lacks ambience or identity with its interior design.
There is a mixture of random art possibly by local artists (also for sale) but I find when cafes and bars do that, there is no unifying theme to tie the place together. The atmosphere feels cold, like a temporary apartment that you're afraid of decorating or settling in because you're not sure if you're going to be there long-term.
Our primary bartender was super nice and so into serving great beer, but there was another off-duty employee who chatted with the on-duty bartenders about some personal affairs pretty loudly that kind of turned me off.
The food menu looked extensive and didn't see too many people ordering food, which made my heart sink because they must have a kitchen stocked with all the ingredients to make these things but nothing's moving to sell it.
I want to like this place because the people are lovely, but there is nothing about this place that makes me want to return.
