| - Would it be too cheesy to say that the haircut I got here grew on me? I got it done yesterday (again with the Fab Find--yay for group deals in all their various forms) and it was fine--looked okay, but I wasn't insanely thrilled by it or anything.
Then that night someone remarked upon my dramatic weight loss (alas, I haven't lost any weight), and I started to wonder whether the Haircut was actually somehow imbued with heretofore underestimated magical properties. The jury is still out on that, but I can also say that it blow dries nicely, even with the minimal product I put in (i.e. none, often as not). It has good volume and shapes easily, but has been thinned enough to have good movement, lightness and visual texture. It also blow dries waaay quicker than my hair usually does at this length. I always figure the real test of a good haircut is how well the hair falls once I've washed the salon's styling and product out of it and treated it to my unique brand of slightly careless hair drying--and this one has passed that test with flying colours.
It's an expensive place, and while I'm not the hippest of customers and generally feel as though I stand out at such places (e.g. I got the sense that my hair stylist didn't know what to talk to me about, since it's obvious I'm not greatly into designer clothes and makeup), I am definitely not averse to shelling out for a good cut, then just maintaining it for a while. Given that, I might actually consider going back, even without the Fab Find deal.
But re the cut--yeah, I'm impressed. The Haircut is growing on me.
