| - I am rating this community with two stars based on the unprofessional manner that the office manager Lauren handled a particular situation that occurred here. Let me first start by saying I love my apartment and the area here, but this is not the first instance where I have felt uncomfortable in the office with staff. On the day in reference I went into the office to report that my charcoal grill was missing from the grilling area and just wanted to know if it had been turned in or brought into the office by someone. Lauren stated that she knew nothing about a grill and basically said there wasn't much they could do, initially. After her initial response she then says, "Well why was it left out anyway?" My response to that was, "well it was hot, we had just grilled with it and it was left to cool." Then she says, "yeah but we don't allow grilling on the property other than the gas grills we provide to use." My fiance then says to her "well we didn't know that and regardless of the rules and what's allowed, our property was stolen from someone here." Lauren assumes he is talking about someone in the office and immediately becomes defensive stating "Why would I take it? I don't know anything about it and if I did I would tell you." It would make no sense to accuse someone in the office of stealing our grill so I'm not sure why that would even cross her mind. So after clearing up the misunderstanding my fiance walked outside and Lauren proceeds to let me know how inappropriate he was with her and then has the audacity to ask me "Is he even on the lease?" Really? How offensive! We walked in to report a situation and walked out feeling very uneasy about what took place. In no way was he being inappropriate, no yelling, no cursing, no hand gestures toward her, etc. nothing of the sort which would cause uncomfortably. Her questioning whether or not he was on the lease was very uncomfortable and in my opinion it wasn't appropriate in this particular situation nor necessary. Essentially we're the "victims" and we're being questioned as if we did something wrong here because we didn't walk in smiling. Of course not a resident here stole from us and she was so nonchalant about the situation. We didn't come in to fuss at them or even begin to shift responsibility on any staff members. Regardless of anything, our grill was stolen. Of course anyone's property is their own responsibility, but that doesn't stop you from questioning an authority figure when it happens. Lauren came off judgmental and her question about our lease situation was unwelcoming. We pay our rent on time every month and don't cause any problems here. Lauren Stated that her reason for asking if he was on the lease was because she's never seen him before. Funny! She's never seen me before either. Considering, I've only come in to pay rent and for mail and had never met her until this day. Lauren claims he came off aggressive towards her but on more than one occasion when I've come into the office Sharon has had an aggressive unprofessional attitude and been very abrupt with me. On one occasion I came in to ask about if I had received a package that was supposed to be delivered and her answer to me was "I don't know." Okay.... That's a real positive professional attitude. That's not something we expect nor should it be endured. But, of course that wasn't the last time she's been that way. I've always been respectful when I've come in the office and regardless, as a resident our only obligation is to make sure to pay rent on time every month and be respectful residents here, which is upheld. We are not complainers, however, as the community director it is her job to maintain professionalism and I believe it is her right to ask about who is on the lease but it was absolutely unnecessary in this situation and was an appalling first impression, but I guess that's how she handles situations here which is quite a shame when you're paying $1400 a month. Also residents here hardly ever clean up after their pets that they allow to potty on rocks and in the grass.
