| - Just can't see it for the money. There are just too many other choices out there for this kind of money and even less. Not quite sure what the target market is for this place. Pricing, menu, and wait staff lean toward fine dining, but the place has the look and feel of theme joint. We sat in a room with 6 tables, no less than 4 wait staff attending. Five tables were dressed and well-mannered and one table, parents with what could have been twin girls late 20's early 30's, definitely sisters sitting with dad in a t-shirt, all loud, and I'm fairly certain, all drunk. None of the staff said a word to these people even after the table behind us dropped a subtle hint to the waiter.
Sure, the food is better than most restaurants per-se, but for that amount of dinner bill, comparatively it isn't good at all. I can name five places off the top of my head that are 3 times the food and 10 times the dining experience for the same or less.
I went specifically for the swordfish which l read on the trip advisor menu but wasn't on the actual menu. No bother to update that menu to reflect current menu omissions. I am however contributory to that since a little more research on my account would have turned up the online menu from their site which is up to date.
I settled for the veal martini which was fairly flavorful but over kill on the basil. The veal was tough also. My daughter had the filet. She was struggling cutting it in which our waiter literally came over and cut it for her and he struggled a bit himself. It was daughter's night out so I just let it go with a soft smile. I'm not a filet person, but it is the only cut my wife and younger son order. We were at Sullivan's and she just about cut her filet with her fork. Capital Grille two weeks ago, my son, same thing.
I gave it a poor rating based on the demographics of the market. For 58.00 my daughter has to get red faced because the waiter jumped in to help her cut her meat like a she's 6 years old. (She's 15; God forbid Dad help never mind the waiter) And for 42.00 my wife can cut hers with a fork and my son the same thing for 44.00 and neither place had loud rude people in t-shirts! If a $48.00 probably choice cut filet, $9.50 quasi caesar salad, $13.00 asparagus, $36.00 tough veal dish, wasn't enough, I had two 8oz diet cokes at $4.25 each! Hey guys, those other restaurants in your market; they refill your soft drink as a good will gesture because you chose to dine with them!
