I ate here one night after going to Pittsburgh Winery and Maggie's Farm Rum because I, you know, needed some food. I'd never been in Roland's before, but a friend insisted that we go there because it is less expensive than Luke Wholey's. We sat at the bar. The service was fine although we had to ask for food menus. Maybe the bartender figured that if we wanted food we would have gotten a table. I got the lobster roll and was really disappointed. It looked good and was on a huge hunk of Mancini's bread cut about ninety percent of the way through to make a roll, but the lobster itself was tough, rubbery, and overcooked. All I could taste was the garlic butter. Granted I'm a little spoiled because I once lived in New England, but a seafood restaurant should know how to cook lobster so that it isn't flavorless and chewy. You do get a good amount of food for your sixteen dollars as it comes with hand cut fries and cole slaw, but I'd rather spend the extra money elsewhere if the food quality is better.
