| - Awful. Just plain terrible. Let's start with the parking. You have to park a couple miles away, and then take a shuttle to the courthouse. Why not just build the courthouse where the parking lot is? I don't get it. Okay, so then you get there, and there is a HUGE line to get in due to the metal decectors. Makes sense. Outside lines in Phoenix in July. Awesome. So then you walk in and there are NO signs as to which way the jury center is. You can either go right, straight or left. I chose right since I saw other jurors going that way. I guessed right. After I walked about 50 yards, I finally start to see signs. Shouldn't those signs be there when you walk in? Weird. Okay, so then we get to the assembly center and it's more time wasted. Sitting around. They have free wi-fi, but I didn't know that so I didn't bring a laptop or anything. Finally after an hour or two, we are hoarded upstairs like cattle- 60 of us. We wait outside the courtroom, where the A/C is not functioning and stand around and waste more time. Finally, we get into the courtroom. After a couple hours of the judge going through and asking individually every juror why they can't do a 5 month trial, we are finally dismissed. Oh, but the hell isn't over yet. The juror shuttle is late and I end up spending about a half hour outside waiting for them. My whole back is soaking wet from sweat. Funny thing was this all could have been avoided had the we just filled out an online form or something that said we had to work and couldn't do a 5 month trial. Instead, they prefer to pay us to drive downtown, pay for the shuttle, pay for security and waste everyone's time. Typical government. Can't wait for government health care. This court system needs a MAJOR re-haul. It is worse than the D.M.V.
