Liked the menu but maybe not as good as it sounds. I tried the ncounter omelette with chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, cream cheese and hollandaise sauce. Filling yes but could use a few key improvements.
The tomato on top looks nice but makes for a soggy warm tomato mess. Partially steamed tomatoes can be eliminated from the world without much changing. I am certain that the broccoli was previously frozen. I know some may say picky but why not opt for fresh broccoli? A little cheaper despite a little more prep work for the staff. (You can tell previously frozen broccoli from the texture and water that is folded into the omelette.)
The potatoes were meh. The generous seasoning sprinkled on them tried to mask the deep fried-then put on the grill to reheat look and texture. Same as the broccoli, why not up your game and make fresh potatoes?
The eggs were fluffy and the hollandaise was standard for a packaged hollandaise. Just add butter right?
I will give this place (or perhaps an encounter and the other ncounter in Tempe) another chance as the chipotle egg burrito sounds like a winner despite having those same pesky potatoes.
