| - I will start from the beginning. When I first moved in 2 and a half years ago, I came to the office ready to unload my uhaul and when i went to get my keys to do so, they told me that my apartment was not ready because the carpet had to done. The whole floor had to be done that afternoon because they "forgot" that I was going to be moving in. So then to much surprise, the carpet corners weren't done very well because they had to rush. Then on multiple occasions throughout the time that I lived there, I had put in maintenance orders for my window (the screen was missing when I moved in and the springs went out on one occasion and it got stuck open on another), drains, etc. and only have putting in multiple requests over months did they finally come out and somewhat fix the issue. Then it rained really hard one day and I come home from work (mind you I live on the second floor out of three) and my entire closet (clothes, wall, and ceiling) were soaked. There was some kind of major leak from my ceiling and when I went to the office to get it checked out in addition to making sure mold wasn't growing, they never came out and didn't seem to care at all. NOW, to top it all off, just the icing on the cake; I moved out after two years of perfect on time or early pay history in November 2014. Now 6 MONTHS LATER in May, I get a collections notice in my mail that I owe them $136 for a fee because I didn't give them EXACTLY 30 notice. I gave them notice that I would be out by the time my lease was up because as everyone knows you have to pay up to the end of your lease, so I gave them notice on September 24, 2014 that I would not be renewing my lease. WARNING, DO NOT BE COURTESY AND GET THEM ANYTHING MORE OR ANYTHING LESS THAN EXACTLY 30 DAY NOTICE OR THEY WILL CHARGE YOU!! I was told by the collections agency (which was my first notice of having anything "owed" to Monte Verde, 6 months later, they did not connect my at all and instead sent it to collections without my knowledge) that on the contract it states that if you don't give an exact 30 day notice they will charge you for "vacating early" because they are expecting you to leave exactly 30 days later. Not once was I ever told this by anyone in the office whenever I have brought up leaving and what makes it worse is that I made the last month's rent in my contract but they want to charge me for giving them too much notice even though I had informed them like any other normal person would think to do so, that I was simply not going to be renewing my contract and will be out by the end of my contract. I have tried contacting Monte Verde multiple times about this with no luck; they never answer the phone and if you get lucky and they do, the person you need to talk is always unavailable and will "call you back" but I have NEVER once received a call back. STAY FAR AWAY, this fee just pushed me over the edge with them and they are very sneeky for that.
