| - REAL sushi lovers, let's be honest - Yama is not that good. I know a lot of friends who think Yama is the best sushi in town, and to each his own. But in my opinion, Yama just isn't good.
The restaurant is small. The service is absolutely horrendous. I never know who is my actual server or who to order anything from. They're super strict on their AYCE rules. And the freshness and quality of ingredients are questionable.
I love baked rolls. And I love cream cheese. And when I order a baked roll and it comes out room temp, the cream cheese isn't even melted in, and the roll falls apart when I start picking it up with my chopsticks, I'm just sad.
I've given Yama multiple chances to prove me wrong. But each time I decide to go back, they just reaffirm that they're just not that good. No changes in service, no improvements in quality of food. Just an overall sad experience. It's not the absolute worst I've ever had, but it's still very sad.
Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else if you're a real sushi lover looking for quality rolls, fresh ingredients, and a great experience.
