| - I'm glad I tried this out. I was freaked out by the nakedness but decided to just go for it. I didn't walk around the first floor buckey naked like a lot of women were, but in the hot/warm/cold tub areas it was best to be free in your birthday suit.
I decided to go after reading a lot of reviews and tried my best to follow the rules, but really, no one was. I wore my own yoga capris because the shorts given to me had a huge hole in the crotch. So whats more offensive: me wearing my own clean clothes, or you having to look at my vagina as you roll around in clay balls.
No one was quiet in the quiet rooms, and that was fine with me. It wasn't yelling like a party but people were quietly speaking to each other. In the sauna on the first floor and lot of women just struck up conversations. I met a lot of women from LA who were here for birthday parties or bachelorette parties.
The clay ball beds was the most hilarious experience. People were falling and in some instances could not get up. Here's a tip: go into the room wearing shoes, the floor is FUCKING HOT. Bring the small hand towel you're given when you first check in. Lay it down on the clay balls. Step out of your shoes and on to your towel, SLOWLY. If you step in facing the middle of the room, you can brace yourself on a wall or on the middle divider and lower yourself. You do not want to put your bare feet on hands directly on the balls for too long, they are hot! And you have to be careful. A lot of people would come in without shoes and try to run out, only to nearly fall after slipping on clay balls which are all over the floor. Anytime anyone stood up the balls would fall down, clacking all over the place.
I think people didn't follow the rules because there was no one where to enforce them. They give you clothes and you're just on your own. It's pretty cool that its all self-guided, but would be nice to be able to ask someone about the different rooms, or what order you should do things in.
The only rule breaking that annoyed me was people bringing their phones with them everywhere. You're supposed to be relaxing in a spa, plus, in a place where people are not fully clothed, its just disrespectful to have a phone with a camera out at all time. Respect our privacy.
You could tell that some people were regulars. Women were wearing face masks and biore strips (steam rooms open up those pores), doing hair treatments and applying body lotions and oils. By the time I left my skin was REALLY soft with out all of that, but for next time I am going to bring some beauty products.
Also, choose the time you go carefully. There is a groupon out, and a lot of people are using it. There were A LOT of people there, probably because it was a weekend. When I left the parking lot was full.
I'm not giving it five stars because the holes in the clothes (there was a hole in the shoulder of the shirt they gave me in addition to the crotchless shorts) and because the food was HELLA expensive. $20 for something I could get anywhere in Chinatown for $7. I also think the massages and body scrubs are ridiculously prices. $120 for a massage? In Vegas? Off the Strip? No ma'am.
