Yelpers, thank you again for leading me to a great cup of coffee! While I'm in Charlotte only a few times a year, it always happens to be on a weekend where the downtown area can be a bit quiet and the search for a solid cup of coffee can turn into a legit quest.
This time, it was a rainy Saturday and I had no desire to go traipsing around exploring. After I left the NASCAR Museum (my kid wanted to see cars that day) I yelped coffee and behold! A short drive later I found myself at Hex.
I love that the location is inside a bottle shop as it's quirky hip vibe brought me right back to my East Village days. I will say I drove by it twice because I missed the signage on the quaint brick building Hex is located in.
I went for a standard latte, but they had a fun unique simple menu as well. One barista took a flame torch to a marshmallow for a hot chocolate, and I LOVED that the coffee beans were ground fresh with each cup. These guys really do it up right and can tell that they take pride in what they do with presentation and taste.
I'm definitely keeping them on my radar for my next trip out to Charlotte!
