| - Good God, I love a seedy, smoke-filled, velvet wallpapered dive bar and Champagne's delivers just that. I've been here a gazillion times off and on throughout my residency in Vegas. In the 12 years I've been here, nothing has changed about it... and that's what I love, it's consistency.
Cheap, strong drinks. A jukebox. Karoake. People watching. All walks of life. I love this place.
My last visit, I ordered a Shirley Temple (as part of my year long COMPLETELY sober challenge) and the bartender gave me a "look," then promptly stated, "You want some vodka in that Shirley?" To which I replied, "I took a year of sobriety because I've been a bad, bad, crazy, wild beast!" She then told me, "This one's on the house." What's more punk rawk than supporting a sober (deviant) in a dive bar? NOTHING.
What's also great about this place is that when karaoke does go down, it's not like waiting what seems like 10 years to have your name called to sing (such is the situation at Ellis Island or Dino's). Parking is limited. It's located across from the Boulevard Mall and the neighborhood is sketch. If you park in the rear, there is an entrance back there, too.
I will definitely raise a glass of bubbly Shirley for this fine shithole and will happily continue my patronage whenever I pass through Sin City!
