| - I hate to say it, but we expected more. (I know, I know. Never have expectations)
Came for breakfast this morning. Wait time was only 10 min, but instead of being greeted, I was given the index finger and told "hold on". (For the first day, I would have put a greeter at the door. First impressions are everything). It was surprising because it was right in front of a camera crew and people who looked like they may have been investors. So, I was expecting super sweet smiles and greetings.
When we sat down, my silverware wasn't clean (Again, really?! On the first official day open?!)
The waitress was good, but a little snooty about the substitution rule. (Sorry! I didn't know this place didn't do substitutions! I have a lot of restrictions I need to work around.... And aren't "no substitution" rules for fancy establishments? Just saying...)
My eggs ordered "over medium" came out cold and runny. I find that I'm impressed when places get "over medium" correct because 9 times out of 10, they do come out runny. But cold AND runny was a first.
My meal was luke warm like it had been sitting. My husband's meal was very good, but he said he had a couple bites of potato that weren't done. We don't like to complain, so we didn't send anything back.
It took two requests to get a box for the leftovers.
Look, I know it was the first few hours of officially being open. I know the staff was a bit overwhelmed (even though the restaurant wasn't full, but I can imagine first day jitters)... The location is great and so is the potential, so we'll give it another shot and see if warrants the other two stars in the future. :)
