  • Aldi one of my go to stores, especially for produce. If nothing else you can usually fulfill your produce needs here at bottom dollar prices. If you aren't familiar with Aldi here is a break down. 1) Bring a quarter. This is for the "rental" fee of a grocery cart. You have to insert the quarter, unchain your cart and return it to receive your quarter back after you complete your shopping. Some may find this process to be a hassle however it is just one way they save on overhead therefore they can pass that down to the consumer. 2) Bring bags, specifically reusable grocery bags so we can all help save the earth. Sure they often have some spare boxes lying around that you can grab if in a pinch, but being prepared with your own bag is ideal. Also if you prefer you can purchase bags at checkout but who wants to do that? Again it is just another way they save on overhead therefore they can pass that down to the consumer. 3) Don't shop the labels. Oh you only like Turners Milk, or Land of Lake Butter. Well too bad. Though you may find some name brand items, for the most part you will be looking at products from off brand manufactures. Simply Nature is a prominent brand featured here. Never heard of them? Who cares! It is fine and you will probably not notice a difference. 4) Going Organic? Hey they got that here too! Well at least a decent variety of items, marked at a significant savings based on competitors. 5) Need some new Tupperware knock offs? How about a yoga matt, or Jim Fuseman Grill? (See what I did there) Maybe a coloring book for the kiddos? Yep these are some more offerings provided at Aldis, though week by week varies. 6) It's not a one stop shop, but seriously it's worth it even if you are just supplementing your grocery shopping. Your wallet will thank you. Happy shopping and don't forget a quarter!
