  • I threw the guy out!! I have never had a repair guy yell at me before!! WOW! Just WOW!! Firstly, I got them through my home warranty, Old Republic, I will be calling them and questioning their choice of contractors now. So orginally I was given a window of 1-4pm on a Friday. So I take the day off and sit and wait for the guy. He shows up at 4:10 PM. I let it go. I told him "my dishwasher is leaking water, it doesn't leak everytime, just sometimes." He asks annoyed "where's it leaking from?" I say I'm not sure. Then he says he needs a "tool". He has a thick accent - European, Russian - I don't know. I don't understand what he's asking for, so I ask him to repeat it. He says "a tool, I need a tool." Again, I don't understand. He then starts yelling at me "Towel! Towel! I need a towel!" Oh, a towel I say. Fine, I'll get you a towel. I'm starting to get pissed, but I let it go because I just need my dishwasher repaired. I get him a towel. He says "No, an ool tool." Here we go again...... I'm sorry, what? With attitude, he repeats: "An ool tool!" I shake my head. He speaks to me slowly like I'm an idiot: "An ooolllldddd towellll!" Oh, an old towel? No I don't have an old towel, just this one. Annoyed, he says he'll just use paper towels then. I'm pissed - I say look, you've been rude to me since you got here. You have a thick accent and I can't understand you. Stop being an asshole! He shrugs me off and mumbles some crap under his breath. Whatever..... I need to get away from this guy before I go off on him, so I go in the next room to let him finish. 5 minutes later, he calls out with valley-girl type attitude: "Helllooo?!?!" I'm livid now. I go to the kitchen: (The following dialogue is so thick with attitude, you can cut it with a knife) Me: "What?" Asshole repairman: "It's not leaking" Me: "Listen, I told you when you came in - it leaks sometimes, not all the time" Asshole repairman: "Well how am I supposed to fix it if I don't know what's leaking? How do I know what parts I need?" Me: "That's your job! If I knew how to fix it, I wouldn't need you, would I?" Asshole repairman: "Well you think I can just fix it like that? You think this is magic?" At this point, I told him to leave. He continued to talk shit while scribbling something on his clipboard. I opened the door, pointed, and said he needs to leave now before I get really pissed off. He says to me "no charge", like he's doing me a favor. I laugh! "I wouldn't pay you cuz you didn't do anything!" He leaves. I slam the door. I have never, ever in my life had a "repairman" come into my home and be so rude and condescending before! No, I don't know what's wrong with it, you're supposed to fix it. THAT'S YOUR JOB! Troubleshoot, figure it out! If you can't, maybe you should be digging ditches somewhere instead. I'm more pissed at my home warranty company at this point, do they not look into these companies before sending them to customer's homes?!
