| - My family and I researched before moving from Wisconsin to Phoenix, AZ and after reading reviews about Invitation Homes, I tried to avoid them. However, we signed a lease with Waypoint Homes in October 2017. The day of our move in, we waited and waited into the afternoon, until we called and called and texted the property manager to gain access to our home & which a month later was bought by Invitation Homes. Great. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, however, regardless... we moved in and immediately identified several issues in the home-- including a shattered patio glass door, broken staircase banister, broken refrigerator door, horrific stained carpet, and more. While someone was sent to replace the sliding glass door (several days after we moved in, with small children we had to keep away from the door, I may add), no one to this day, several months later, has ever attempted to remedy the issues we've identified at move-in. Frustrating. On Friday 3/2/18, we reported an issue with our oven/stove after this last week when the stove top caught on fire during use and the oven was smoking. When I reported the issue- maintenance said they'd be there the following morning. They were not. When I called again, they said someone would be there Monday morning- again, they were not. When I called Monday afternoon, they said no one could come until Thursday - nearly a week later, not being able to use a stove and/or oven for a WEEK when I have a family of 6 to provide for, including 2 small children. This is simply unacceptable and their response to my complaint was to call my "local office" aka a Waypoint homes office over an hour away. Convenient. This is atrocious customer service for residents.
