  • I've been to Mix twice...most recently on my visit in August. The first time I went was a month or two after they opened and the meal was just not that memorable. This time, however, was a different story. The restaurant/lounge itself is absolutely beautiful. I have heard that the restaurant is supposed to represent heaven, while the lounge represents hell..and I totally get that. Anyways...the boy had made reservations a while before for a Friday night. I didn't know, however, that he was going to propose here....because he actually proposed as soon as we got to Vegas in our suite since he couldn't wait. Long story short, he proposed a second time when we went to Mix and had a whole sneaky plan worked out with the manager and sommeilier. We took the guest elevator up, since we were staying at Thehotel. The hostess was very gracious and seated us right away--outside which was awesome--the view is amazing, although in August, a little hot. Our waitress was amazing...very personable, able to recommend dishes and just fantastic all around. We started off with the potato gnocchi, which was fantastic--very light, but flavorful. We also had another appetizer, but I can not remember exactly what--other than that it was some kind of beef and melted in our mouths. The bread with the homemade peanut "butter" was awesome--very yummy. For my entree, I had the lobster curry--lots of lobster, VERY flavorful sauce and a generous portion. The boy had one of the specials of the night which was filet, with foi gras(which was VERY tasty) and some kind of sauce. He definitely enjoyed it. We also split the side of the elbow pasta, black truffle, ham, gruyère cheese ie...Mac and Cheese. It was so yummy, the truffles and cheese just blended into this amazing flavor--I kind of have this obssession with mac and cheese..if it's on the menu, it must be ordered. Our waitress was constantly checking on us, but not in the annoying intrusive kind of way...just the right amount of checkin up. After dinner....a bottle of VERY nice champange came out and the boy proposed again....and we were given a congratulatory desert compliments of the chef, amidst my tears. A Mix Candy bar....YUM. I can't even describe it other than it was delicious. The sorbet that complimented it was so good too. We finished off with the madelines and nutella, which was really a nice touch. It was an amazing night, one I will never forget. We also had an awesome couple sitting next to us that had just gotten married...and we ended up going out and hitting up the clubs with them. A newly engaged couple and a bride in her wedding dress....we had an awesome night! Try Mix! You won't be disappointed!!!
