Had a 0 star experience. Intake was a total joke. Adolescents were told in Children's Hospital that Tempe Aurora Behavioral had beds for them and they would be transferred at 2pm. My child was taken from CHP to Tempe Aurora arriving at 2:45pm, but was not taken to a room until 11:45 pm. The intake specialist was more concerned about the football game being on the TV than processing the hospital transfers efficiently. My supposedly at risk child sat in a in-take waiting room with a drunk bum that smelled vomit and urine and sores on the skin, along with half a dozen adults around 20 years old. These Millennials were actively talking to the 6 CHP 6-8th graders about how they have unsuccessfully attempted suicide multiple times and which cones were better than others. But the kids couldn't have their markers and coloring books or shoe laces because of their dangers. I'm more concerned of all the dangerous ideas that the kids heard about for 10 HOURS than their coloring books and marker.
Yes , We waited 10 hours for a 5 minute minimal health history, a 15 minute social worker assessment, a TB prick, and a condescending sell to attempt to also receive flu shots. And a 3 ring binder chart that had all the pages inside that only required 6 pictures cut out and inserted in the pockets and patient ID stickers placed on the pages. We were threatened to accept the admit or CPS would be involved and they would give consent, so either way they are getting their patient. Helen Keller could have managed your front office intake better with her hands tied behind her back than their 2 incompetent intake specialist.
