Apparently the reason we have not gotten any mail in the last week is because our "mailbox is broken". I found this out by accident when i made a trip to the Post Office to see what was going on. Naturally it would have been too much for them to notify us by putting a notice on our mailbox. I had to go there in person since they never answer the phone.. it's alwyas busy. someone told me that they take the phone off the hook at my local PO. During my visit i had the misfortune of dealing with one of their supervisor (Dottie) who told me this could go on for a day, a month or even a year beofre its fixed, but hopefully it will be sooner than a week. If i want to have my mail delivered again I might want to see what I can do to catch the kids they think are breaking into the mailboxes so that this doesn't happen again. You can't contact the consumer affairs department since you are place on hild and forgotten about. and you can't press the prompt to leave a message since that goes to busy too. The bad part is that the mail we put in the outgoing mail box is stuck in there. So we have no clue what bills have received payment. But the funny thing about this situation is that the guy in front of me just moved in. they will have the locks changed on his mailbox and keys ready for him by Friday. Yet, according to a supervisor, it could be up to a year before they change the key on our box so our mail carrier can start delivering mail again.
