I debated whether to give 4 or 5 stars to this place. I'd give it 5 as a nice place to go for Ladies that Lunch and a 5 as a memorable place to take an elderly (woman) friend or relative for an outing. It's a 4 for a date because the estrogen level is so high.
The only couple I saw was an older man with a woman that looked like she might be his mother or an aunt. There was no music that I noticed which is nice for older people that might have trouble hearing or concentrating when they're out and about in town.
There are several beautiful patio areas in the front and back. The decor is very tasteful and upscale but not stuffy. The food was very good. One of the things I noticed was the strawberries on the salad were flavorful, not like a lot of strawberries, merely hinting at the flavor of the fruit. The baguette used for my sandwich was high quality with a nice consistency. I hesitated to order a sandwich thinking I'd get a generic type French bread. The salad had the perfect amount of dressing, evenly distributed with some lovely toasted almonds.
There might be a different crowd here for brunch, but again, I see it more as an older lady place than for couples or younger people. Well-worth a visit though, followed by a breeze through at the Marketplace next door. If I was to go again, I'd probably have lunch at the Cafe and dessert at the Market for a slight change of scenery.
When you pay your bill, they give you a 10% coupon for the Marketplace. You can use the coupon for food or coffee as well as gifts next door.
