  • Update: I went to the dentist again. Yay. Everyone's favorite place. Probably not. Well somehow I got a cavity. I drink 1-2 sodas a day and used to drink 1 44 oz per day. It's amazing I don't get that many cavities right? It's over a hour, my eyelid is a little numb from the anesthesia but it's wearing off. I worked in a hospital as an undergrad running around doing EKGs and saw a lot, so these things don't freak me out. You might be wondering why the eyelid is affected if it's my gums that got the shot. Simple. Your head's nerves and blood vessels all interconnect. If you've ever been forced to memorize these nerves and blood vessels in gory detail you would see the most ridiculous highway system ever devised by Mother Nature and they all interconnect and are redundant (it's a safety mechanism). If you are looking for reviews, look at the not recommended reviews because there are a ton more than these 4 that Yelp posts. Pretty unfair that Yelps algorithm punishes them even though the place was bought out, but kept their name. Besides being a food nerd I am just a plain nerd and a techie....as in CES every year kind of a nerd, coding. I actually coded in C. So, when I say Yelps algorithm needs a lot of tweaking, it needs reprogramming. But I diverge. My filling literally took about 5 minutes but the time to let the sedation take effect, about 10. I didn't feel anything to be honest. Then again, I have a strong tolerance. I put on Vaseline around my lips before I showed up. FYI: you should put that stuff on before visiting your dentist because it keeps your lips moist and from tearing. I hate lip balm but I put it on this time before I came in. Dr Lee is extremely quick and professional. I didn't feel her needle jab me. She has skills. Trust me on this. I am enrolling in dental too and I only hope to be as good with the needle and instruments. My assistant Lala was great taking X-rays and prepping. Alicia , the hygienist, took the calculus I developed underneath one of my molars that's crooked and makes it hard to clean. I hate flossing so I use my waterpik which works great for me. I had really bad teeth with heavy stains from coffee, soda. But no stains this time. I shadowed another doctor a few years ago for a few weeks ( I will ask to shadow here too this summer and see if I can learn some more stuff before I start school) I tried taking a x-ray, taking an impression, trust me it's harder than it looks. I can hem my pants, sew my shorts back, work on a car, take a computer apart, but my hands are clutzy with the dental instruments. Take my word, this place is great, in my opinion at least. I think you will find it to be a very good office that's laid back with staff who are very nice! I hate when good businesses don't get the credit they deserve but mediocre ones are overrated. I've met a lot of terrible dentists too on my way to being one (and I will prob meet tons more) and the docs here are far from those guys. Before applying to school, I volunteered here 2x for both times that they did the Smile Day and provided free dental services to the neighborhood and local charities like battered women and abused kids. I cleaned their instruments. Believe me, it gets pretty hectic. All I got was a t-shirt and a free lunch. These are the kind of community outreach that I do. Recently, I attended a cancer support group. When I found out that the senior members were going throughout the city to do outreach about bladder cancer and provided help and support to each other. I told them they did not exist unless they were on Google. To make a long story short I built their website and did all the SEO and marketing free of charge as well (bladdercancernv dot com). This office has been doing community service since Dr Lee came aboard. That should say something about this office and why I think the neighborhood should support them because they support the neighborhood without advertising the work that they do.
