| - I went to the healing joint twice, once for acupuncture and another time for massage. Dr. D gave me very thorough treatment for intense upper back pain with a combination of acupuncture, electric stimulation, and some massage, which relieved my muscular stiffness, but didn't fix the pain in my spine. I actually went to another acupuncturist at Holy Hill the next day, who cured my spinal pain immediately. For my 2nd trip, I had purchased a groupon for massage for $30, and returned when I had a huge knot in my shoulder from work and sleeping awkwardly. As someone who is used to deep tissue massage, and who went in telling my masseuse, Jason, that I didn't mind which technique he used, the Swedish technique that my groupon had paid for, or if I had to add $10 to my groupon to get deep tissue massage, as long as he could resolve the issue. He was very nice, but I wish that I had had a stronger massage to tackle the root of my problem, as I had hinted several times during the massage itself. I got the feeling that he was used to treating mostly immobile people with a low threshold for pain.
