  • Finally a good German restaurant in Madison! Considering that a large portion of Wisconsin residents have some German Heritage it was always surprising to me that we had no good German cuisine in Madison. Our waitress at Freiburg Gastropub was quite friendly and informative. When we told her that it was our first time to the restaurant she went over the whole menu with us. I ordered the jaeger schnitzel and my wife had a German pasta dish. The pasta dish was good but the jaeger schnitzel was exceptional! It came out perfectly fried, moist and with just the right amount for sauce and Mushrooms! Freiburg Gastropub has now been added to our list of favorite Madison restaurants!
