This place is a classic diner with a very retro 60's vibe that fits in well with all the nearby historic neighborhoods. Prices are super reasonable considering the quantity and quality of food you get. Service is relaxed and staff is always super friendly and cheerful to everyone. It's a place where you feel free to pick up a section of the daily newspaper and enjoy your breakfast. The menu is a mixture of tried-and-true roadside diner fare mixed in with some creative daily specials that are always worth a try.
My personal fave for breakfast are the Eggs Benedict.. Yeah, the Hollandaise sauce is probably from Sysco (does anyone really think any restaurant makes Hollandaise sauce from scratch anymore???) -- but the eggs are poached perfectly and served up on a toasted English muffin topped with ham and served with a very generous serving of home fries or hash-browns.
If you have a serious sweet tooth -- try the homemade cinnamon rolls. These things are the size of a hubcap from a '55 Buick and yummy-yummy. Or if you are in the mood for coffee and a great dessert -- try the homemade cakes. The cakes are always homemade from scratch and I've never had one that wasn't incredible. The Red Velvet cake is my best-est fave, followed by the carrot cake.
