| - I will begin by just stating the obvious, this isn't Broadway, Canegie Hall or the New York Metropolitan Opera. That being said, this is a fantastic venue, and a must visit for Las Vegas locals that would like a dose of entertainment that isn't the standard Strip variety.
I am a Broadway series season ticket holder, and I have had a phenomenal experience every visit. If you arrive early (which I would definitely suggest), you are able to park quickly and easily. After you parking you can leisurely enjoy large open space of Symphony Park, and explore the inside of the building, taking your time looking at souvenirs available for your show and the buildings architecture and beauty itself.
Once in the theatre, the seats are more than comfortable enough to sit in throughout the show, and people are generally courteous and do not get up and move around during the show. The level I sit in is the floor below the balcony, and the view, although not close, is phenomenal. There is a crystal clear view of the entire stage and, for those of you that want that super close peak at the faces of the performers, opera glasses would work great. Seats are on a steep enough angle that you can easily see over other patrons heads, but not so steep that you feel you are going to tip forward over the edge.
Overall for the performance quality and the experience itself, the Smith Center can not be beat. If you love musical theatre, or are just a casual fan, there is a show that you can enjoy. Las Vegas has needed a venue like this for a very long time!
