  • As if I need another reason to live in the Queen West area, the addition of Loblaws at Queen and Portland is it. Now there is less need to rely on driving to a supermarket. The deli has seating overlooking Queen at the corner with floor to ceiling windows. The sushi bar is at the other side of the seating area next to the 'wall of cheese'. Instead of the usual oversized grocery carts, this store has the slick baskets which have retractable handles and wheels like luggage. This makes navigating the aisles much easier. Finally the european style of integrating large stores into the Queen West streetscape has caught on!
