  • Worst orthopedic experience I have ever had, I have had several orthopedic surgeries and procedures through the years of athletics so I am very familiar with the process and how things should be run, how you should be treated and what are realistic expectations. This past January I had a ruptured distal bicep tendon and was referred to the Core Institute by my primary care Dr because due to insurance switch I was unable to use my regular surgeon. I had nothing but issues from the initial appointment setup, the care I received from Dr. Tyler Collins and then the attempted scheduling of surgery. Dr. Collins has the worst customer service I have ever seen, I am aware the typical surgeons mentality I was raised around medicine but zero compassion and literally could care less what you say or your questions and if you are going to have someone operate on you you want to have some assurance and I received zero. Then when asking his staff about scheduling surgery I kept being told someone will call you to setup the appointment, my primary care Dr. expressed the concern and severity of this issue that it needed to be done and the staff matches Dr. Collins nonchalant could careless what you say, do or your needs. I refused to use their services and was referred elsewhere. I finally received a phone call from Core Institute about setting up a time and date for surgery but it was after I had already had surgery, had my follow up with my surgery and was on a road to recovery if that puts into perspective the timelines of how they treat people and the priority they treat you. I went from the absolute worst care to best care and could not be happier I left and never went back to Core Institute, I will not say where I went to seem like I am promoting or trying to market another practice but with so many options in the valley do your homework, read reviews and know that you have several options for your orthopedic needs and if you are not ok with being treated like a second class citizen in a cattle call setup then I suggest going elsewhere.
