  • It's been.. Wow, 7 months since I wrote a review? My wife and I moved to Charlotte in January and we have been told by our new friends here that we MUST GO to The Cowfish at some point. Looking for something to do for our anniversary tonight we decided now would be a great time. Burgers? Sushi? Both at the same time? We were intrigued. This is a really cool spot. The staff is very fast and friendly and the decor is unique. There is indoor and outdoor seating and while the Southpark area is gorgeous, we opted to sit inside. We started with the parmesan truffle fries and they were INCREDIBLE. Bacon, cheese, the usual suspects. The fries were shoestring style and there was just enough topping not to make them soggy. For dinner I had the "All-American Bacon Double Cheeseburgooshi." So basically it's Angus hamburger meat, cheese, ketchup, mustard and your typical burger fixings inside of a soybean sushi sheet and then flash fried. So it's presented like sushi but when you eat it, it tastes like a cheeseburger. The disconnection between the visual and tasting the food really messes with your head. It was delicious though! My wife had a "build your own" turkey burger and fried pickles. This is where the staff at Cowfish really stepped up. My wife doesn't eat beef. Not for any ideological reasons she just doesn't care for it. When our food arrived my wife received a very, VERY rare beef burger instead of her turkey burger. We're not ones to make a scene. We know working in food is a tough job, so she politely informed the waitress of this. She apologized and the right food arrived promptly. No worries! A few minutes later the manager came out and asked what happened. We explained and he apologized once more, comped her meal and said dessert was on him tonight. The apology and replacing the food was sufficient enough, but it was really above and beyond for him to do the rest of it. I only regret I forgot the manager's name because that was top class stuff. We finished with "The Mousse is Loose" which I thought was going to be a glass of chocolate mousse. Instead we got this giant slab of two brownies with chocolate and vanilla mousse on top. It was UNREAL. It's everything you want in a chocolate dessert. The Cowfish is awesome. Great food and service. We will be back as often as we can.
