| - The thought of buying a house can be a scary process especially when you don't know the legal jargon of all the papers you will be signing. I was fortunate enough to have been recommended Jody by friends.
From the beginning, he sat down with me, and I explained my financial situation and told him an estimate for a mortgage that I would be comfortable with. He calculated my debt to income ratio, and told me what I would most likely be approved for. He then had me gather documents that would be needed throughout the process (before I even started looking).
Once I submitted my offer, and had my loan process started, I hardly even had to think about the process. It was almost too perfect, but it was because all my documents were ready to go when the funding bank asked for them. If there were any issues, Jody was prompt with his correspondence, and contacted me both my email and phone. During the month long process, he would update me on my status, without being asked. When I went to go to my closing signing, he was there to answer any questions I had with the documents, and was straightforward with his answers.
I've never bought a house, and I've heard many horror stories about the loan process. I'm grateful that I didn't have that same experience. Jody knows his stuff. He's prompt with his responses and will spare you all the commercial b.s. that others use to manipulate you. For example... the house I bought required a pre-approval letter from another bank. This bank was giving me a difficult time and was delaying my escrow process. Jody stepped in, provided the representative with the required paperwork, and asked that the approval letter be processed immediately so I could proceed with my escrow. The representative quickly changed her tune. Apparently these banks try to offer incentives to gain your business and end up costing people more money at the end.
I can't say how much I appreciate Jody's help. Like I said, my process was so much smoother than what I pictured, and it was because he anticipated all the games that banks might play and he's willing to help No question is ever too stupid - he'll answer them all (I asked tons!). If I had to do it again, I would go with Jody, and I would have NO problem recommending him to anyone else.
