| - Was very pleasantly surprised by this place and may be my new fave brunch buffet in Vegas now - even better than the renowned Bellagio buffet.
Decided to try this place because it was conveniently located since we were staying in the Planet Hollywood Casino (formerly Aladdin Casino) and they gave guests a $5 coupon off per person to encourage ppl to try it. Was highly doubtful of the quality and selection of the food even though it was voted "Best Vegas Buffet" by what sounded like some bogus Vegas magazine. However, we were very impressed and satisfied by the huge selection (even more than Bellagio buffet) and the quality and taste of the food (on par if not better than the Bellagio buffet).
The Spice Market restaurant does not look as elegant as the Bellagio Buffet, but it was much bigger with so many more food stations. Offerings included:
- Breakfast - fresh waffles and fresh omelettes made-to-order were awesome
- Asian - the chinese pork buns were so soft and fantastic, sushi, etc.
- Bakery - so many breads and pastries, including focaccia etc
- Middle Eastern - this was very different and had things like tandoori chicken, hummus, etc.
- American - standard comfort foods
- Italian - included lobster pasta
- Seafood - salmon, seafood and chicken paella, etc.
- Desserts - soft-serve ice cream CUSTARD was so creamy and delicious, freshly made cotton candy, and a zillion other desserts that looked so good. Even more desserts than Bellagio.
- Salads - many different options
- Carving - prime rib, lamb, many others
- Mexican - meats, sides, condiments to make your own fajitas/tacos but the meats were hard from sitting in the heat too long
Hint: find a $5 per person discount coupon somewhere. The Planet Hollywood casino front desk may be able to provide one if you are not staying there.
Bottom line: Food here was suprisingly good for a buffet and much better and cheaper than the Bellagio buffet. And there was a very short line - forget the long line at Bellagio and give this place a try. You mught come out very pleasantly surprised like we were.
