I went to Stuffington Bear Factory with a friend and our kids. Having been to a Build a Bear I was expecting something similar.
Unfortunately, Stuffington Bear Factory was only similar in the idea. The prices were the same (over $20/bear average) but the quality of the stuffed animals were very disappointing. The inside of the building was very drab and empty, and the staff (although friendly) looked like ex-tweakers.
Of course, I couldn't leave w/o letting my daughter build something, so she picked up a small bear ($18.95.) They stuffed, and brushed (they used a very loud dremmel that scared my daughter.) Then the kids got to brush and air wash the stuffed animals themselves. When all was done, they tied ribbons around their necks and I walked out paying $23.95 for a stuffed animal that was not any better quality than a carnival toy.
I like the concept of Made in America, but I still expect quality products at a decent price.
It was a nice experience for the kids (took less than 1/2 hr,) but we've been there, done that, and wont be back again.
