If you are near Toronto and have not been here you should definitely give it a go! If you feel destined to live in the ocean, obsessed with everything water and passionate about aquatic animals, just like yours truly, give it a go!
I have always had this over bearing desire to just jump into every body of water I come across so when my sister decided to do a family outing here for her birthday I was delighted. I loved going through the sea tunnels and looking at the underwater fun up close and very personal! You can touch some animals, engage in interactive activities for small and big kids alike! Also, the aquarium is divided up into different sections, starting with a Canadian section where we can witness what swims beneath our toesies in Canadian waters and ending with surprise, surprise the gift shop! This is great for tourism and although it isn't as large as other aquariums there is really no harm in exploring the depths of Ripley's Aquarium.
However, as a hippie child I felt sad for a lot of the animal life, king crabs in small places and large schools of fish circling a small tank. This was expected though and I wanted to know a little bit more about the aquarium and tried to engage the minimal staff they had inside in a conversation but it was clear that either they did not know much or they just didn't care. I asked why certain sharks were huddled together in the tanks and the girl just said, "that's what they do". Ummmm not a very good answer there lady with shark shaped name tag jeez!
