This hospital discharged my 75 year old mother who was just starting to recover from a stroke, with promises that a nurse would be checking on her starting the next day. We called the nursing agency to find out they were not coming until at least three weeks out. The social worker, Sandra Flores, had misunderstood or misrepresented that my mother would have care the day after she returned home. The hospital knew that my mother lives alone, and would require care if she was being discharged. I asked multiple times if they were sure they had care for her and I was assured that the nurse would be over the next day. I called multiple times over the weekend trying to get some answers and help, but no one was able to help me out. It has been 4 days since she was released and NO ONE from the hospital has returned my calls to explain or apologize for the stress they caused me and my elderly mother. With no thanks to them we were able to make emergency appointments and get the nurse set up. It is scary to think what would have happened to my mother if I was not able to rush out there to sort things out for her. She would have been left ALONE in her home for weeks without ANY medical attention. I don't wish this HORRIBLE experience on anyone and their loved ones. Thank God my mother is now ok, and settled back at her home trying to recover from her stroke, no thanks to Sandra.
