4 stars for service only. The food was 3 stars at best. I ordered the sampler plate which came with two sides and a fried green tomatoes appetizer. The meat in the sampler was very tender and fairly tasty although the BBQ sauce on it was just ok. No better than a supermarket brand in a bottle. The jalapeno corn bread that came with it was pretty decent. For my two sides I chose the coleslaw and the beans. The beans had a nice texture and had lots of meat and a mix of different types of beans. They put rice in the beans which was a surprise but not totally unwelcome. The flavor was a bit too earthy for me and didn't really compliment the BBQ meat. I added some BBQ sauce to the beans which helped. The coleslaw was the worst I ever had in my life. Whoever told them that caraway seeds and dill were a good flavor combo lied to them. Seriously gross. The fried green tomatoes were nothing to write home about either. The breading was bland, crumbly, mushy, and seemed excessively greasy. The tomatoes however were sweet and tart. It's really a shame about the breading. I think if this place tweaks a few recopies they could get these bad reviews turned around.
