Hello there. I have come back to comment on this because I think that Beacon at 601 has definitely stepped up their game in the last year. If you read my original post from October 2016 below you can see that I was not happy with how I was treated as a tenant here.I was not planning on renewing until the complex got a new manager and let me tell you she is great. She has shown awesome potential for these apartments. She actually listens to the complaints and puts effort into making everyone as happy as they can be living here. The water is almost never shut off anymore, only for emergencies (thanks!) and keeping the property clean. I feel valued and see the physical difference in the apartment (from maintenance up to management). I would just like to say thank you for that. Also, about a month ago they went through all the apartments making sure all the outlets in kitchen and bathrooms were up to standard and I found some comfort in that.
OVERALL:
Yes I would now recommend this apartment to a friend. It's no high end luxury apartment, but it's a great complex full of nice people, and they are going to take good care of you. I renewed because I saw this potential, and I hope it just keeps getting better!

My boyfriend and I moved into these apartments in May of 2016, and we were very much in love. Safe community and nice neighbors but moderately overpriced for the quality. (1 bed 1 bath). After a few months, we noticed maintenance put together our apartment in a really sloppy manner. Using thumbtacks instead of nails, terrible weather stripping(making for $200+ electric bills), water stains on the ceiling, electrical plugs painted over, ect. We have even been waiting 3+ weeks just for our air filters to be replaced. We were also unhappy with our water being shut off multiple times a month due to "emergency maintenance". It was fine the first few times, especially because we got text alerts. In the month of September, our water was shut off at least four times without notification. Finally today after two days in a row of not being notified to an "emergency shut off" I am furious. Also, our air conditioning has broken three times, and it's gotten to 97 degrees in the apartment, with a 48 hour response time from "emergency maintenance" this last time. We had to open our doors and let the 96-degree weather into our house just so it wouldn't get above 100. This is absolutely unacceptable. Management has always tried their best to help, but some employees just don't seem to care. Also this past week I watched a Maintenance staff employee hit a residents car! The residents I have spoken to have a very similar experience as we did. We have been living here about six months out of our year contract and I can't wait to move. We have been extremely patient but I think it's fair to say I would not recommend anyone.
