I used to take my kids to this cafe to see the train running around the walls. Sadly there is no train but the cafe has certainly moved on. It changed hands more than once so didn't know what to expect. I was surprised at how posh it seemed. We went in the afternoon but it was immediately clear it is more than just a coffee shop. They open in the evenings with a far from ordinary menu.I think the way we were served is probably the same as the evening service even for toasted teacake and a pot of tea.My friend enjoyed scone and cream. My toasted tea cake was the best I have ever had _nicely soft on the outside and toasted just right in the middle. There were people in having a coffee and chatting an enjoying the decor . A nice place to meetup.
