the first impression was good but last impression was horrible.
I called in advance to ask how much for scaling and exam and if those cost would be covered by my insurance after I gave my info like Green Shield account #.
After confirmation from the friendly receptionist, I made an appointment and got treatment.
but I got charged with a huge bill and found out that exam and "Oral Hygiene Instruction" were not covered by my insurance at all.
It turned out that I got charged for verbal advice done by the hygienist during scaling under "Oral Hygiene Instruction" ( I visited 5 dental clinics but I never got charged for this)
when I talked to the dentist on the phone about the exam cost , he basically said he wouldn't believe me and hung up the phone.
I understand that unexpected things can happen and we all make mistakes but what matters is how to handle it; accusing a client as a lier for the sake of around 150cdn?
the irony was that this dentist said her receptionist could not confirm because they had no record of me, which was an obvious lie.
come on, she knew even the exact date when I had seen a dentist last time and this dentist even got an xray record from the previous dental clinic.
