  • With my quest to find the best tasting unsweetened almond milk cappuccino in the city, I stopped off at Cherrybomb cafe, to taste their version. I was pleasantly surprised that their unsweetened almond milk cappuccino was quite pleasant. I had tasted others in the city, and this one was probably my favourite thus far. There is something about the brand of unsweetened almond milk that they use, in combination with their expresso, that really goes well together. It was pretty funny to read other reviews on here, that perhaps not all the barista's at Cherrybomb are very friendly, but for me, as long as they make exceptional coffee I'm happy. There was one incident where I had a barista make 2 cappuccinos for me, and I noticed that one of the cappuccinos did not taste as strong as the other. I just thought it was due to possibly not frothing the almond milk as much as they did for the other cup. It was really not a big deal, so I just asked them politely if they could just add a tiny bit of expresso to that cup. It was a bit odd that they wouldn't do it, and told me that it was impossible for one cup to taste differently than the other. They indicated that they add the same amount of expresso to each cup. I completely understood this, however, sometimes almond milk can be harder to froth and this was most likely why one cappuccino was not as strong as the other. It wasn't their fault, but if a customer isn't totally satisfied with their beverage, I would think that they would have just added the extra expresso as a good will gesture. That's what I would have done. I try to see it from their perspective too though. The cafe must be costing them a lot in rent, and if they were to add an extra shot of expresso every time a customer complained, it would cost them a lot of money. Plus, the morning that this had happened, they made a mistake on my order and had to re- do it, so they were probably in a hurry to remake both my Capps, because there was also a really long line. Maybe they were stressed, and that's why they weren't so happy to put it an extra shot. I do also want to say that they have really good baked goods!! Their chocolate croissant is excellent, really good blueberry muffins. I wish this place was bigger, and had more seating, so I could sit there with friends. But as long as they have good coffee, I will still go there to pick up my daily jolt of coffee.
