Rude. Rude. Rude. They make pretty tasty treats so I've always tolerated their poor customer service but today's experience takes the cake. I went to the Markham Village kiosk to buy egg rolls but the long-haired lady at the cash flat out said no, they're sold out even though they had just sold some to the people ahead of me in line. They even had trays full of them on the counter. So I left and tried my luck at the Pacific Mall location. Same deal there. The owner/manager refused to sell me the egg rolls and said their inventory is for another customer. I pointed to the full tray on the counter and asked "You're selling ALL of those to one customer? She replied with a rude-toned "Yes." I don't understand their egg roll sales logic, it seems completely arbitrary. Why sell to one customer and then tell another customer they're sold out?
On other occasions I've experienced the following:
* If you get a blank emotionless stare from the cashier, that means it's your turn to order. They don't waste precious energy on smiles or pleasant greetings.
* They like to throw your purchase on the counter in your direction. Again, ain't nobody got time to HAND you your bag of goodies.
* They don't understand food hygiene. The thick glove they use to handle hot waffles is the same glove they use to collect money.
* Sometimes the service is a tiny bit better when the owner/manager ladies are not around. They seem to be the root cause of all the rudeness.
I wish I could take my business somewhere else but there's nobody else in the mall that specializes in these treats. (I'm not even considering the bubble tea kiosks in the food court. Those places look sketch!)
