| - Where to start? The CMOA has a grand collection of art, too large to display all at once. The very diverse installations really offer something for everyone! I enjoyed so much of the modern art by new and exciting artists! An amazing display of glass by such artists as Chihuly, Peiser and Rhoades lined the courtyard entry as a beacon to the fine art within. Even the courtyard itself, with fountains and seating was a welcoming microclimate of a peaceful oasis in a bustling city!
While I was delighted with art by Sargeant, Mondrian, Picasso and numerous other great artists, my heart stopped in the Impressionist's galleries! Someone smart placed a large bench in front of Monet's Water Lilies. I sat and absorbed the brush strokes and play of light and color. I was calmly thrilled by this work and later had to return former before we left. The thrill continued with Renoir, Cezanne, and so many more!
The Art museum is connected to the Museum of Natural History, all inclusive in the ticket price. My husband loved the exhibits and kids of all ages will be awed by the very extensive collection of dinosaurs!
We lunched at the museum's cafe. What a huge surprise! My veggie burger on gf bread was delicious, but outdone by the quinoa, asparagus and cranberry salad! My husband really enjoyed his ham and bean soup with a turkey sandwich.
For locals, there are many different summer camps for kids in both museums. We saw lots of happy kids exploring, creating, learning!
