Solid restaurant for dim sum and other Chinese dishes. I came with a large party and we ordered quite a bit of food. All of the classic dim sum dishes were done fairly well. I particularly enjoyed the fried barbecue pork sticky bun, the youtiao crepe, the dry fried chicken from the regular menu, and the xi fan. The xi fan was actually outstanding and I would definitely return for that whether I come for dim sum or not. I thought the har gao (shrimp dumplings) were on the small side and a bit too firm and the lo bo gao (turnip cake) was just okay. Everything else we ordered was pretty standard fare. The location is definitely super convenient for students and I'm unsure if there are any other dim sum options in the area so I would definitely return to Mandarin Wok! It isn't anything special and I heard many of the dim sum items are made in Chicago and brought down but it's a solid Chinese restaurant on campus.
