Came here Oct 2016.
I have lived in Toronto for over 10 years but I haven't been to the Sunday Kensington market before. I have walked by the area many many times but on regular days the streets are pretty empty and I would never imagine the area can become so crowded and lively!!
There are food and music everywhere. People performing, playing gigantic jenga, blowing bubbles with robes tie to two sticks, etc etc
After arriving we quickly spotted the long line up for the tacos. So we spilt and I lined up for the taco while my friend went to buy jerk chicken.
Taco from Seven Lives are $10 for 2. We got the octopus taco and the baja taco. The octopus was smokey & tender and the sauce was good. Baja was crispy but I like the octopus one more.
Jerk chicken is $5 and it was so delicious. The meat falls right off the bone and the rice is flavourful. I couldn't eat too much of it though because the heat started to kick in after a while.
After walking for a while I saw a takoyaki stall. After watching them make it I decided to try some. Unlike the regular takoyaki which is just batter and octopus, they put in pickled ginger as well. I prefer the simpler version, but they still tasted pretty good.
So glad that my friend recommended me to check this place out, if not I wouldn't have had such a wonderful Sunday afternoon just strolling on the street while eating non-stop!!
