  • This hospital might be the worst. I work with elderly people, So I've been in and out of many hospital in the Pittsburgh area. Here's the story: I passed out at work after after donating blood, hit my head, passed out again, fell again, and subsequently took an ambulance ride to the nearest hospital, Ohio Valley General Hospital. While in the ER, the doctor came in, did a few test, but never once checked my head. Which was personally my main concern. I was discharged shortly after arriving there and the doctor talked about donating blood and the risk of passing out for about 5 minutes. I told him again that I wasn't too concerned about that, I understand that happens, but I was concerned about my head (that was bleeding) he took his hands, placed them on my shoulders. He took a look to my right, looked to my left and said, "I think you're fine." I left and without thinking, or asking questions, paid my deductible and went home. While at home, I struggled to keep food down, struggled to keep water down and threw up multiple times. I was exhausted so I went to bed. I woke up the next day, with a pounding headache, still incredibly nauseous. I decided to call work and explain how I was feeling. They insisted I go see our company doctor who immediately sent me for a CT scan, confirming I had a concussion. Lastly, once my concussion had passed, I realized it was being filed as a workers compensation and I shouldn't have paid my deductible. I called to see how I would get it back... it's been 3 months. They agree that I should get the money back, they've taken my address multiple times but I've yet to see my money. If you are in the area and need a hospital, drive 5 more miles and go anywhere else.
