| - I lived here for a year and never had any problems with my apartment. Maintenance was always quick to respond and the guys are really friendly and even waved hello whenever I'd drive by them in my car. I read a lot of complaints about the ladies who work in the office but personally I never had a problem with them. In fact, I found them to be very friendly and helpful.
The appliances are a little old and could use some updating (dishwasher and microwave) but hey, at least the apartment had them and at least they worked.
One thing I think could make this place A LOT better is a gate. Pretty much every morning people would come in and comb through the dumpsters which personally I think is a little creepy. Also, I lived towards the back of the complex and people would regularly come in and use the dumpster and the area behind it as a personal dumping ground for their unwanted furniture. Stained couches, mattresses and old TVs were piled as high as the dumpster itself. Not only is this unsightly and makes the area look super trashy, but it's also unsafe, seeing as some parents were letting their kids play back there. *shudder*
I figure a gate would also help in preventing a majority of the crime that happens here. My boyfriend came home one night to find that someone had stolen a part off of his truck. I didn't report it because, even if we went around and looked at every truck in the area that was the same make and model, there would be no way to tell who took the part. I also never said anything about this to the apartment office since I figured it was neither their fault nor their responsibility, it just says something about the area.
Other than the part-snatching, the area isn't super shitty and you really can't get more convenient than Del Coronado's location. It's right around the corner from a Target, a mall (which has an In-N-Out!), and a gym.
If you're looking for a decently priced apartment with a good location, give Del Coronado a shot! You could definitely do worse.
