  • This Acme has been around for decades, and corners the market on the neighborhoods closest to the Kent State main campus and downtown Kent. Students who depend on getting around town on foot or by public transport often have to shop here, which is why its higher prices are especially lamentable. On the plus side, it does seem to employ many students and young people who are sharply dressed in their uniforms and generally very courteous and helpful. Herein is a listicle of the pros and cons: PRO: +This a full service store, meaning they have the grocery, plus a bakery, pharmacy, and florist +Staff are generally very professional and considerate +They have bulk spices, so that you can purchase only what you need (at the end of an aisle in the organic foods section) +You can recycle plastic bags (stuff them in the cardboard bin as you enter the store) CON: --Unless you're hitting a special deal, items are priced higher across the board than at other area grocery stores, such as Marc's --Meager organic produce section
