  • TTC is the worst!! So my son who lives in vaughan and never takes the ttc goes downtown with his friends to celebrate a friend's birthday. After a fun night out, they get on a packed streetcar, where there are no signs of where to pay and no pace to put their fare. They arrive at the subway station and go to pay at the fare booth and each are given a ticket for $230 for trying to do the right thing. It's unfortunate that the TTC is unable to employ people with common sense, who abuse the little power they are given to bully and scare children all to fill the TTC coffers. My son is upset but I am enraged and refuse to pay this ludicrous ticket. We decide to take option #2 and meet with a prosecutor for an early resolution and after taking half a day off work for me and school foI him, they don't even want to hear about what happened. It is basically a 2 minute meeting where they tell you they will reduce the fine to $80 if you pay today, otherwise you can go to trial which means we will have to take another day off if we want to fight this ticket. So, people, the moral of the storey is.. DON'T take the TTC if you don't have to. It is NOT the better way. I am fuming as I sit here waiting to pay a fine for a ticket some mean spirited little man needed to issue to feel good about himself. #ttcsucks #ttcnotthebetterway #ttcproblems
