| - Tanzy has so much potential within it that I'm just glad I got the the 1000 PTs from Open Table as this ship hit an ice berg that would sink the USS Enterprise within hours.
Some of the reviews I had read were spotty, but still chose to give Tanzy the opportunity to impress me. Tanzy did this right away when the hostess took our table with an awesome and gracious personality, we sat overlooking the promenade below which gave it an overwhelmingly romantic motif. Our waiter was bright and heartwarming, although he noticed he wouldn't be getting a high tip upon our choice to share and not have drinks he still executed well...to a point. I'll get to that later.
The decor and a second floor locale give Tanzy an awesome date night location for many couples, it is split between actual seating and couches up front which I can only guess are really meant for patrons wanting light fare before entering a feature at the adjacent and connected iPic theater. The seating is the split by a high wall and curtain with tables and booths overlooking the above mentioned promenade and lamp shades that give in a twirl and then the back is separate with a wine vault, no one seemed to be occupying the seating. As I said, there's so much going for this place.
Hitting the ice berg, when your service flames out and the bathroom experience is better than your dining experience. We ordered the Parma Salami and the Shrimp Linguine, before our food arrived I knew that the busser was not well trained, or was inadequate, but then I'll give more details following the arrival of my food. But she brought the neighboring table's food, which I had been a victim of in the past but rather than doing dirty to them like was done to me we stated it was not ours and it was delivered. She said she miscounted, but I just think she was bad. Now when it comes to timing of food I don't expect my main to come out with my appetizer at the same exact time, especially when my main is hot. So we had to initiate and devour main dish. The Shrimp and Pesto linguine to taste was just awesome, the parma salami as a deconstructed bruschetta was interesting and tasted amazing, although I would not have had cheese toast. In the midst of our time the waiter spoke to us asking if our dishes tasted good and we mentioned they were awesome. So that was two strikes and I was going to go for a three star. But once we were finished, plates on the table we got passed by another waiter probably 15 times, the busser had cleaned and reset the other table ignoring us, I definitely made eye contact with the other busser and nothing happened. This whole detent seemed to last for fifteen minutes before the manager noticed and cleared our plates, I then waited a long time for the check to arrive. And then I went into one of the most expensive restrooms ever, that was an experience to behold.
The food saves Tanzy from being a no go zone, for how expensive of a resto Tanzy could get provided you're not splitting a meal. This staff needs to be drilled, the kitchen needs to be drilled for timing, I shouldn't get a hot main exactly at the same time as my appetizer. So much potential with decor and actual culinary skill that it just isn't worth coming back even if I got another 1000 pt table.
